The Fredon Board of Education (BOE) is made up of the Superintendent, Business Administrator, and an elected, five-member, voting, and non-partisan group of volunteers. They meet monthly in public at the school to discuss school policy and advise school leaders on higher level priorities.
Their meetings are taped and posted if you would like to see how the meetings are run or you miss a meeting and want to stay informed. Their annual budgets and monthly agendas are also posted in advance if you ever want to give input ahead of time when you can’t make a meeting.
I have found the current members to all to be very approachable and easy to reach through email which you can access by clicking on their names on this page. You can also you leave a message for them at the school at 973-383-4151.
Their next meeting dates are:
Monday, July 25, 2022
Monday, August 22, 2022
Monday, September 26, 2022
Monday, October 24, 2022
Monday, November 14, 2022
Monday, December 12, 2022
Monday, January 23, 2023
If you want to get involved and run for an open seat on the BOE, the school announces when seats are open with a lot of lead time on their website and in their newsletters. This was the last set of instructions that was posted publicly. It was circulated at the end of January and early February, so you can probably start to look for the next set of instructions in early 2023.
The BOE is a great way to get involved and serve the community in a very meaningful way.
